PROVIDING THE TOOLS FOR A SUCCESSFUL COMMUNITY
PURPOSE
The purpose of this program is to introduce structure, integrity and values to the lives of youth who may have been disenfranchised, marginalized or casted out. By focusing on strength, love, wisdom and purity we hope to achieve unity between the youth of today. This program will directly interfere with the social and personal aspects of youth’s lives. We will do so by providing programing that will act as an alternative to gangs, as a second chance to youth who may have had experience with correctional facilities, a cure for teen homelessness, a reconnection to the educational system if lost and a spiritual awakening or reconnection.
MISSION
Our mission is to provide economic growth, spiritual support and to increase neighborhood relations between law enforcement and inner city youth. We will strive to give the tools for urban youth to learn to uplift their communities and surrounding cities.
STRUCTURE
All too often we are losing members of our communities to gangs, drugs, gun violence and predators. Preying on the young, weak and hopeless. The glamour of notoriety, money or just a stable place to stay seems to be at the fore front of this battle as whats being used to draw people into this tail spin life. We would like to offer the same thing just from a different angle. URBAN SCOUTS OF AMERICA wants this to become a triumph story. We want urban youth to get positive notoriety from their peers. We want to provide money in the form of helping youth become business owners thus counteracting the disproportionate work force. We also want to have facilities that we use to teach these theories and house any youth that would be in need. This is how we plan to do it.
We plan to have a ranked structured system that would take youth from wherever they are at in life and propel them to the next level. This system will consist of scouts advancing themselves through ranks called: GEMSTONES. This name was chosen because of the healing powers these stone are thought to possess. The rank will start will CHRYSOCOLLA and end with ONYX with the thought that as one would advance they would lift lower ranks on their backs and help them persevere as they move along themselves. The end goal would be that the scout would be ready for ownership of a local businesses or shares in URBAN SCOUTS itself.
INTENT
URBAN SCOUTS OF AMERICA is fully aware that there are often many community organization focusing on the same goals. Some of these organizations get lost in the shuffle, forgotten about or simply over looked. It is our intention to utilize any organization aligned with our mission and goals. We intend on collaborating with these organizations under one umbrella in order to complete the mission that we would all share. (It takes a village.)
ELIGIBILITY
URBAN SCOUTS OF AMERICA will accept any member of a low income household, homeless or abandonment. We will accept any ethnicity, race, color, culture, sexual orientation, religious preferences and/or members with disability.
